Miami & South Florida

Everglades National Park

The Everglades is a large protected landscape with several gateways. Shark Valley and the southern park entrance are separate outings, so choose an area before buying a tour or planning a drive.

A practical visit plan

Check the chosen entrance and open facilities, then begin with a ranger-informed boardwalk or guided activity. Keep walking modest in hot conditions and allow time for wildlife observation from a distance. Return before storms or fatigue make the road harder.

02

What to check before leaving

Water levels, mosquitoes, heat and seasonal services affect the visit. Keep away from alligators and never feed wildlife. Airboat trips vary in location and operating rules; do not assume every commercial tour enters the national park.
