Philadelphia

Philadelphia combines the independence sites with strong museum and neighborhood days. Keep Old City, the parkway and food-market visits distinct so the trip includes more than a photograph of the Liberty Bell.

Build a trip that works

Three visits, three different days

01

Old City & Independence Park

Half a day to a full day with historical interiors.

Reservation and security requirements can change. Use the NPS information for the visit date. Private houses remain private even on historic lanes, and summer heat makes water and indoor pauses important.

02

Museum Parkway & Schuylkill River

One day with a museum; two to three hours for an outdoor walk.

Check museum closure days and exhibition tickets. River paths may be affected by flooding or works, and bike traffic shares some sections. Keep an indoor alternative when the parkway is exposed to summer heat or winter wind.

03

Reading Terminal & Center City

Two to four hours with the surrounding streets.

Vendor availability, payment methods and seating vary. Ask about ingredients directly when allergies matter. Keep aisles clear, request permission for close-up photographs and avoid promising that any particular stall operates every day.
