A practical visit plan
Choose one park per day, verify the current entrance arrangement and start with a manageable walk. Return to town for supplies before another park day. Keep remote roads and longer backcountry routes outside a casual rental-car itinerary.
What to check before leaving
Check entry reservations, road suitability, heat and flash-flood warnings. Carry water and protect biological soil crust by staying on trails. A vehicle capable of reaching a paved viewpoint is not automatically suitable for unpaved park roads.
