Moseulpo
& Gapado
A short crossing still needs a complete passenger plan. Carry valid identification, verify the operating ship and protect the return sailing before the island's barley fields and stone walls absorb the clock.

Gapado quick facts
Complete the document before watching the sea
Exact schedules change. The durable plan is a set of checks that can be repeated on the morning of travel.

Cancellation or early changeTransport to and from Unjin Port
Missed connection on mainlandThe wind makes three different days
Do not translate a generic weather icon into ferry status. The operator decides whether the ship sails; the traveler decides whether the exposed island still suits the group.
Sailing confirmed
Board with return details, wind protection, water and enough time to move slowly.
Status uncertain
Remain near the port, delay other commitments and wait only for official information.
Cancelled or unsuitable
Use the mainland fallback. Never pressure staff or seek an informal crossing.
Walk by texture, not by speed
Recent official guidance describes Gapado as compact enough to explore on foot or bicycle. That is an invitation to slow down, not to turn residential lanes into a race course.
Orient the return
Photograph the pier information and save the required check-in time before leaving.
Read basalt boundaries
Stone walls mark working land and homes; use the public route and gates that are clearly permitted.
Let seasons differ
Green barley is seasonal. Do not enter fields or manufacture the expected color.
Spend quietly
Use a local meal or drink as support, not as permission to photograph private life.
A ferry ticket grants transport, not access to everything
Gapado is a living island. Keep public lanes passable, avoid doorways and agricultural plots, and reduce noise around homes.
Walk to one side
Leave room for residents, deliveries, farm vehicles and emergency access.
Stay outside
Photograph from a public edge; never step into barley for composition.
Ask or turn away
People, windows, workspaces and private courtyards are not scenery.
Carry it back
Island disposal capacity is not an invitation to leave packaging behind.
Let Moseulpo remain useful when the ship does not sail
The southwest port area can support a meal, working-harbor observation and nearby mainland geography without pretending to replace Gapado. The goal is a complete day with a different purpose.
- T − 90Finish the farthest point and begin moving toward the port.
- T − 60Use the final meal or purchase only if service time is predictable.
- T − 30Reach the terminal area, confirm status and complete boarding procedure.
- TBoard the correct sailing; the sunset can be watched from the mainland.
Moseulpo and Gapado FAQ
Where does the Gapado ferry depart?
Current services use Unjin Port in southwest Jeju. Confirm the operator, terminal, schedule and check-in requirements directly before travel.
Do I need identification?
Current ferry guidance requires identification. Verify which document is accepted and make sure every passenger's ticket details match.
How long should I spend on Gapado?
Allow a slow loop, a meal or rest and a generous return-to-pier margin inside the booked sailing window. Wind and seasonal crowds can make a compact island move slowly.
What if the ferry is cancelled?
Use the preselected mainland southwest route. Do not improvise a different island crossing without checking its independent departure, identification and return requirements.
