Choose train or bus by your hotel, not habit
New Chitose Airport Station connects directly beneath the terminal. The train is the predictable default to Sapporo Station; an airport bus can reduce transfers when its stop is genuinely close to your hotel.
JR airport train
Best for Sapporo Station and a clean onward rail connection. Check current departures and reserved-seat options with JR Hokkaido.
Airport bus
Useful for selected Odori, Susukino and hotel stops. Leave a road-delay buffer before any flight or fixed reservation.
Late arrival
Confirm the final train or bus before booking the flight. An airport or Chitose night is better than designing a connection that does not exist.
Sleep near your repeat journey
The central grid is walkable, but snow, luggage and late-night plans make a few blocks meaningful. Pick one base rather than changing hotels across the same city.
Sapporo Station
Strongest for airport arrival, JR day trips and luggage. Dining is abundant, though evenings feel more businesslike than Susukino.

Between the station and nightlife, with intersecting subway lines and easy access to the park, tower and central grid.

Susukino by appetite
Book only the meal that truly needs it, then explore one compact dining pocket on foot.
Spread the signatures across the stay
Miso ramen, soup curry, seafood, jingisukan and parfait culture do not need to become one endurance session. Assign one priority per meal and leave space for what looks good near the day's route.
